Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When does the 2023-24 season start and end? Can I enroll at any time?
A: The 2023-24 season begins on Tuesday, September 5, and will run through our year-end Showcase in June. Enrollment is ongoing through January 15, as long as classes have space available. We will close enrollment in January in order for dancers to start preparing for Showcase.

Q: How much do your classes cost?
A: Tuition is based on the number of hours your child dances each week. (For example, 30 minute classes are $50/month, 45-minute classes are $72/month, and hour-long classes are $88). We also offer a sibling discount. You can calculate your monthly tuition via our handy tuition calculator.

Q: When is tuition due?
A: Tuition is always due on the first of the month, and late after the 10th. Monthly tuition is based on a 9-month semester (September-May) with approximately four classes per month. For your convenience, tuition is payable monthly. There is not an extra charge for months with five lessons nor is there a reduction or refund for any classes missed or holidays.

Q: Where can I see which classes have availability for enrollment?
A: Click here to see current available class offerings. Classes listed in red are full and green classes have at least one spot available.

Q: Can I schedule a trial class before enrolling?
A: Absolutely! For dancers who are new to Inspire, we would be happy to schedule a free trial in any class that has availability. Simply create an account here, then contact our office at studio@inspireacademy.dance to schedule your free trial.

Q: The class day/time that works best for me is full. Am I able to join a waitlist?
A: We do offer waitlists if you are wanting to enroll for a class that is currently full. In order to join a waitlist, you must create an account. You can join a waitlist through your online portal, or by contacting our office. If a spot opens, we will email you immediately.

Q: What will my child need for their dance class?
A: You can see a listing of our dress code and shoe requirements here. Specific colors are listed for shoes so that dancers will match at the year-end Showcase. If you already have shoes in a different color, no worries!  Any color of shoe is fine for class; just know that we will require pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes, caramel colored jazz shoes, and mostly black/white hip hop shoes when it’s time for our Showcase.

Q: Do you offer make-up classes?
A: If your dancer misses a class due to illness or a schedule conflict, we do offer make-up classes. Make-up classes can be taken in any age/level appropriate class, even if it is not the same genre as the dancer’s regular weekly class. Make-up classes MUST be scheduled with our office within one month of the dancer’s absence. We are only able to offer make-ups in classes that are not full. We do not encourage make-up classes from March-June, as classes are working on Showcase choreography that differs from class to class.

Q: Is there a performance my dancer can participate in?
A: Our year-end Showcase in June is a truly special and exciting opportunity for our dancers to perform in a professionally-run production. Showcase gives our dancers a chance to show off everything they’ve learned during the dance season for family and friends.  All dancers are invited to participate - even our Mini Movers and Mini Groovers!  More information about costumes, participation fees and exact dates/locations will be sent via email in November.  Though we encourage all dancers to join our Showcase, participation is optional.

Q: How do I drop a class?
A: To officially drop a class, please fill out a drop form. This form must be filled out by the 25th day of the month in order to cancel your tuition for the following month.

Q: What communities do you serve?
A: We are conveniently located near I-90 and SR 900 and within 15 mins or less from Issaquah, Bellevue, Renton, Redmond, Sammamish, Mercer Island, Maple Valley, East Renton Highlands, Newcastle, Preston, Fall City, Hobart, and many more Eastside communities.

Q: How do I contact my teacher?
A: If you ever want to address a question or concern with your child’s teacher, please e-mail our office at studio@inspireacademy.dance.  You can also contact studio owner Alex Wright directly at alex@inspireacademy.dance.

Q: Do you have a competitive company?
A: Yes! Our Elevate Dance Company is for ages 4 and up. Auditions for the team are held each July and the season runs from August-June. If you are interested in more information about Elevate and the time/financial commitment involved, please email elevate@inspireacademy.dance.
